Screen Grabs : Bounce The Short

Hi everyone,

I'd just like to share some screen grabs from a short that i've worked on with my friend as dp/writer/producer/director. note that some of the snaps does contain mild nudity and the setting is a strip club.

45 minutes long, 4 shooting days in san diego, laguna beach & las vegas. This was literally our first movie and was intended as a practice shoot to teach us the process and techniques without shelling out the money to go to film school. just do it, right?

We made mistakes and learned from them and our movie is still in post-production finishing up final audio mixes (one of our great weaknesses) having to shoot in uncontrolled environment with poor audio equipment. Which is why we had to redo all audio!

I would post up a trailer but the music we used is not final yet so I will update it. So far the budget was under $2k for this movie. With 3 original score and song written for it.

This was almost a year ago now since I first picked up a camera, first opened up an NLE and was still researching dv, dof etc. Hoping to get this thing finished up soon!

They look OK, but I really think they need more nudity ;)

Naw, seriously, they look good. Lighting looks good in 1 and 4 in the first post, and 3, 4, and 5 in the second.

Looking forward to some clips.
 
Setting was set to default 24P settings on the DVX. We used some red gels on the bar scenes to have the color on the actors. On stage, we simply turned off all lights and used stage lights and it actually came out more natural. We also used the beta version of the Letus flip which had some minor issues with reflection.

For the car side shots we used a $100 mount which worked great to achieve this look. Although monitoring the actors/lines became the challenging part.

There are a lot of pretty attractive strippers/actresses in this movie, so u won't be disappointed at that.
 
The big guy with white shirt/gray hair has a "killer" look for crime drama. Looking forward to seeing the trailer.
