Screen Grab-takes a second to load

Those are really beautiful...did u crush the black on the second one. I dont like the wall in the first one its too grainy looking. The flowers look good in the second one but the wall may be a little too light. Anyways they both look rlly good. How did you do it? What did you use?

The first wasnt meant to be used by itself...just a preparation for the magic bullet...Since there was so little contrast to start with i induced(maybe wrong word) grain and upped contrast and put a lot of subtle effects on it to get it ready for the big bullet... heres my attempt on the other pic:

First get the pic ready for the bullet:

Then fire away with presets(although if i was you i'd make ur own to best fit ur needs)

I'm not saying I like these presets necisarilly but it shows u how much of a range magic bullet has... and sorry about posting so many pics...tell me what u think

i have magic bullet and i like all those presets but all the other users say magic bullet isnt the only thing and shouldnt be used too mcuh cause it over does it.

Magic bullet is definately not the ONLY thing, the other users are right. Its an awesome tool and im sure noone can deny that. But even the grabs I posted which used presets don't use ONLY magic bullet. I used 5 effects before I even put on the presets, look at the difference between your original image and the image I started with when I used the presets. Work on getting a better image before you use magic bullet and then you will get much better results otherwise a bad image will just look like a bad image with magic bullet. Also presets can gimp you if you try to use them all the time, they do tend to be a little extreme so maybe you should try for a more subtle effect(unless u like the extreme) . Also, it is somewhat redicolous to believ that there will always be a preset to perfectly fit the style you are going for(and dont try to fit your style to a preset) so you will need to branch off and create a style that more fits your project. Also, the presets are created to emulate predefined and commonly used styles, and at least for me, I don't want to emulate styles, I want to try and create my own. So pretty much, if a preset really works use it, but only if it really works because otherwise you will be settleing for "almost good". And also get comfortable with a lot of your nle's image correction effects. If you use vegas start out by learning to use bright/cont and hsl they are more powerfull than u'd think.

Sorry if that was confusing, I'm just tryin to help...hope it does help

definitely kinda creepy. since everything here is zombified lately the last monte post looks right at home!

on a seemingly unrelated monte note, congrats on your "Bag of Douche" title...

Way too much green for my tastes. I'll show you a comparison between that and my quick correction. Her skin tone in the the first pic make it look like she's on her death bed. Not to mention really is not flattering for her teeth either.

Note: You may or may not have to adjust your brightness up. I switched monitors and the picture is drastically different on each of them in terms of gamma and brightness, because one is an older monitor that doesn't have picture adjustments. Let me know what you think. Keep practicing. It gets easier.

Yeah I rarely touch MB anymore. It so easy to spot when you use it now. I have some really great results with the basic 3-way corrector in FCP. It also cuts way down on atifacting and render times. As far as the image posted, pump some more light in next time. It is always better to have too much than not enough. Especially if you plan on using MB filters, they will eat up your light anyway.
