I just checked out a new horror flick called "The Screaming Dead" which was released by Shock-O-Rama Cinema (an offshoot of EI/Seduction Cinema for more "Legit" horror productions--- less girl on girl / Nudity/ R rating etc...) Anyaway it's directed by Brett Piper and is a pretty cool little flick. Good performance by Misty Mundae, excellent performance by Rachael Robbins. Well paced and very well shot for a limited budget 12 day shoot.
I know for a fact it is shot in the 24p format and really shows it in the all to few outdoor scenes, which look terrific. The indoor scenes also hold up well and are well lit although a little bland (but I'm a big Argento fan so...). Anyway in an article in alternative cinema they state it was shot in 24p mini DV, but in the same article Brett Piper says "They're shooting in 24p HD" .... This might have been a misprint because midway through the article is a picture of the Director and in front of him on a tripod is the beautiful DVX 100.
So I'm pretty shure it's a DVX production.
Anyway, horror fans and filmmakers check it out... your movie could look like this.
