School sucks

Re: School sucks

Ah, the collegiate lifestyle suited me SOOOO well. I can’t think of a better place to be than a college campus in the fall or the spring. The energy . . . invigorating.

But not for everyone.

Re: School sucks

i didnt like my hs experience much, but now that I Look back, I thought there were some very nice moments...you are only young once with little to no responsibilities - just try to enjoy that a bit cause in a flash, you are going to be 40

Re: School sucks

School doesn't have to suck--it's up to you, really, if you have good days or bad days--whether in high school, college, or anywhere.

Like someone else on here said, you need to be flexible in your current situation, lighten up, and roll with it a little. Trust me, I know how you feel--but take a deep breath and find the best way to spend what time you have left there. Take this advice from a girl from the Czech Republic who came to USA, (straight into HS!!!), with no friends and huge cultural gaps...

And not all students and teachers are self-righteous...true, many are, but why should that bother you? Don't let them get to you. I would be glad if I were you that I was so young and already learning about the DVX. Creative talent and eventually a career can take you anywhere in this country...

It seems there's always one or two really good teachers out there who actually give us younger people the credit we deserve for being our own person and not just another punk they are superior to, but if you don't find them, just remember, self-reliance...and don't close yourself off to any opportunities or whatever because you don't want to look back on this in retrospect and have regrets because you were too stubborn and opinionated to relax a little and chill out and take each experience for what it is---a learning experience with potential for adventure and always, hope.

Hi Jerry,

Didn't your parents teach you that it's rude to speak a dif. language in front
of others who don't know the language! keke...

Well I actually just came here to ask a question about a different camera, but I'm now considering the DVX, so you never know, I just might be floating around this site for a while!

I agree - well put, tuliptree. I often meet people who f-this and f-that, and make whatever excuses for their lack of achievement, but this (USA, and Canada as well) is still a land of freedom and opportunity. Life was never meant to be easy... At least here it rewards hugely (and I don't necessarily mean in economic sense) those who take charge of their destiny. I know a lot of people see that as an empty phrase, but it's not. It is possible, believe me.

Wherever you go, there you are. Where is here? Dad must have a great taste in women! ;) Say hi to your parents.

Ummm. My parents didn't teach me much. My mom died when I was 13, then I hung around woods and mountains rather than my dad for four years, then I met my wife and 'sort of' ran away from home. By that time it was too late for me to learn any manners whatsoever, which totally explains my big mouth and WWW-approach to pollitical correctness and conflict resolution.

(WWW as in Wild Wild West - shoot shoot shoot, shoot some more, and when everyone's dead, ask some questions).

Get a DVX, girl! Anything else is waste of your talent (which I am assuming you have plenty, with mom being Czech and stuff ;D)

There is no other forum, either.

Re: School sucks

This is the Railien camera cult, we were left behind to indoctrinate. We all wear the same type clothes, shoes, etc...resistance is futile!

Re: School sucks

100 Megapixel chips are implanted in the back of our eyeballs, and miniDV tapes are rolling inside our brains.

Occasionally we re-scan Barry_S guide to reinforce the vital piece of information: how to clean ourselves (our heads, that is)

Hey... watch it. My camera of choice is the VK-C1000. The DVX is just a backup camera. VKuser.com is just around the corner folks.

Re: School sucks

As I said, there is no other forum. Any attempt to build one will be disrupted by our agents on the ground.

Re: School sucks

Back to the subject of this thread: School sucks.

So my daughter looks like is going to fail 'Careers'. She isn't turning assignments in. Hello? Careers? Isnt' that supposed to be THE easiest subject on Earth? So what's the problem?

"It's so easy, it's boring, and completely pointless. And the teacher speaks bad English and I don't understand her."

Judging from the assignments I've seen, I must admit that I see them as pointless too (and yes the teacher is hard to understand). So what does a dad tell his daughter? "Honey I know it's stupid but it's what you have to do"? Well - that's why I left communism long time ago. Sorry, a duck is a duck is a duck, and I won't call it a goose, nor will force it down my kids' throat.

Or should I make a deal with the teacher, tell her the subject is boring and pointless, just please give her 51% so she can move on?

School sucks. For parents too, you know...

Re: School sucks

I'd give my left baby-makin-pod to be back in high school. Life was so easy. Enjoy it while you're there man. No bills, no deadlines (homework doesn't count), no taxes.

sigh....
