Thanks for going through the time and effort to do comparisons like this, Ty. I especially loved your mic tutorial as it was a major influence on my last microphone purchase (a Countryman E6). I'm very happy with that mic.
I just placed an order for your Audio Boot Camp book and look forward to reading it. Thanks again, Ty.
Thanks guys. This is a world class mic that matches their cmc641 hyper. The mic probably won't be available until after the first of the year in the US because the audio pros have pretty much already bought out the first production run. (does that tell you something?)
for someone who is going use shot guns outside only , the schoeps is no grater benefit then all the others , for these who intend work one mic only , is worth every cent
Ty cut the bull , outside i dont see any benefit on that one if you compare it to any other shot gun , for interior its a different story .
the only different is the nature of the sound , some people like the 60 and some the neumann ,and some like me the cs3 e .
i see it as anice tool for some one who dont have any shot gun , i see it as waist of money if some one need to sell his shot gun and buy that one instead buy another hypercardiod or anything else .
not to mention while you are working news or hard doc and have no time to change or cary aditional mic you always work with shotgun -whatever you have , so befor you state something ridiculous like no one ever use shotgun interiors check the news today and watch every conference to see what people usually use .might be that the news in your region so slow so they really have time to change .
when i did this kind of stuff ( whith all the majors abc, cbs, nbc, ard ,sat1 zdf,bbc assahi and whatever ),there was only one mic in my setup and it wasnt something that not start with the shot ...
you can pass on reply as you do it on the net .
First of all, curb yor rhetoric. Do you eat with that mouth or are you Oleg? If you ARE Oleg, I really have no respect for you and you know that. Thanks for outing yourself. I'll know to ignore you here and bypass your boorish behavior.
Within the context of this group, most of whom I'm going to presume are not run and gun news grunts, the best mic for the job is not a shotgun for interiors, it's a hypercardioid. You can't fight with me about it. It's a fact. Go fight with yourself. When the only tool you have us a hammer, everything begins to look like a nail.
::To the group; I'm sorry for this, but (as I'm presuming this is Oleg) you must know that he's been called out for bad behavior in other newsgroups; by me and by many others. I have killfiled him. He appears to have taken exception to that and is now trying to spread his venom to me here. I learned a long time ago not to participate in toxic relationships. Life is too short.
Again, apologies to the group. To Exile, you are a truly toxic individual. Please consider getting help.
You can call me as you wanna call me
Since you really dont have any other experience then recording in your house i cant beat you about your statements ,everything is working good in theory and your tests.
Go work a little bit outside to get some real experience then talk what mic usially people use , news or even drama ( check the last from Spielberg' what they recorded interiors , i have the complete list of mics , there is no hypercardioid for adr interiors)
And as i assume most of the visitors here are mostly making their bread from documentary and trying to figure what is the cheapest way to deal with , usially with one all around mic - the hammer( thats screwdriver in Russian)is still the best tool.
these who trying or making other stuff read enough of my previous posts to figure what is the best and what is really matter .
i never stated that other mic is not better for inferiors , i have 4 schoepses for that matter and i never pull shot gun when i have the time to do it .
so read carefully what did i write and dont put words in my mouth - especially when iam eating
about my respect to politically correct dwarfs or full of morality crickets like you who sometimes visiting ramps , its less then to my dog outs
i am only have compassion to people who waist money on your book
now go take some peals to relax
dear dvx readers ,sorry about some words but some people dont worth your time
Okay, Exile (don't know your real name) I think that's stepping over the line quite a bit. You can come out and disagree with a review or an opinion, but honestly in that last post you come off as a pompous jerk. I don't care how much high profile work you have done, I've detected a rather cocky attitude in some of your other posts, and it can be annoying. Sometimes I attribute it to a language issue, but clearly this last post is mean spirited. To me, it calls into question your professionalism.
Obviously you guys have some history, but it seems to me that history is best left off these boards.
Now, maybe I'm missing an inside joke, and you guys are actually buddies and I'll come off looking like the fool here, but it just seems to me that you have a certain way of infusing venomous statements into your posts. It's your way or the highway.
I've done quite a bit of work in this industry as well, in all kinds of capacities, but I always come on these forums with the attitude that I'll find plenty to learn and a good community willing to share knowledge. I don't pretend to be an all-knowing genious, I'm far from it.
Anyway, this has obviously annoyed me, so again if I'm missing something here may others jump in and smack me over the head, otherwise, please step off the pedastel and join us humanoids.
no - you didnt miss anything - he doesn't love me and i think he doesn't have a clew about real life situations and state stuff which was never been said by me
about my professionalism - they pay me money for what i do and know , that's good enouth call me professional as you are
about my attitude, you have to live with since that what come with my knowledge
that i have no problem to share with you and others , you have problem with that , i dont mind you will skip on my posts .simple as that
about my real name - you have to be very ........ not to know it from the 1500 posts i made on dvxuser for the last few years
Well its unusual to read a bit of a spat on here. On another forum I frequent (a sporting one that all teams fans are members) this would be deemed normal chit chat!
Still, I have read good advice from both Exile and Ty and just because they obviously don't get on doesn't mean that I won't listen to what either have to say. But I will say Exile you did start the spat and should calm it down a tad.
yes i said cut the bull sh... ( like this one since the Mel Brooks - The history of the world - Did you bullsh..last week? , Did you bullshi.. the week before?))
and that exactly what i meant - you can find paralle word by your self if you dont like it , for me the straight line is alwais the best.
best wishes all for new year
Ty, I watched your video but I am confused. You have both the 416 and Schoeps next to each other, but what are we listening to? The 416 or the Schoeps?
Sorry I don't get it. Could you please explain what I am listening to?
Thanks
PS ordered your book. It looks interesting.
They are on seperate channels. Scheops is on the right channel, 416 on the left. You need to be able to isolate the channels, not have them summed together.
Exile, can you share that list of mics in speilbergs film? 416?
Btw am I the only one here who likes the brighter sound of the 416 over the scheops models! Thanks!
