Scene Setting

I was just curiouse, is there a tutorial or thread that goes into depth on the purpose and use of all the scene setting options in the scene file menu?

I had searched past threads but did not come up with what I was looking for, if there isnt a thread, does anyone know any good websites that explain the scene file settings purpose and use in detail.
