Can anyone suggest a 100a scene file setting that will produce the cleanest images possible (meaning the least evidence or grain/noise) for day time shooting, INT?

Thanks

I know the settings on the camera, I've used it since it busted out on the film scene. I want to know what other ppl are doing... this is a forum.

Thanks.

what im saying is that there is an entire section based on the question you are asking

"Technical: From Scene Settings to What\'s that click?"
This section is dedicated to posting screenshots and footage.

Cleanest possible images......?

What are you shooting?
Does it need to be 24fps?

Give us some info about what you're shooting and we might be able to guide you in the right direction.

sorry for snapping, dude. I had a bad day. i'm shooting a short on the FX1 cuz the director wants to, its his cam. and i'm trying to convince to go my way, the dvx way. but he's not really budging.

i'm shooting a combo of INT day and INT night, EXT day and EXT night. I want my detail settings (level, v detail and coring) consistent the whole way through. I'm just wondering what others are doing with these three to get the cleanest, smoothest, noiseless/grainless images.

i think any DVX user can understand the frustration caused by having to use an FX1 when a DVX is sitting in it's case, unused.

wow that guy must be an idiot..no offense. 24P is an amazing feature and how he thinks interlaced 1080 footage is better...THATS JUST CRAZYTALK :)

Detail Level -3
V-Detail Level -3
Detail Coring +7
Chroma Level -3
Chroma Phase 0
Color Temp 0
Master Ped -6
A.Iris Level 0
GAMMA Cine-Like
KNEE Auto
Matrix NORM
V-Detail Freq THIN
PROGRESSIVE 24p(ADV)

TRY THAT OUT! :)

Yeah he's a little out of the loop when it comes down to techs, whathe hasn't realized is that the techs will affect his art and aesthetic.

We already shot a few scenes with the FX1, but I have won the battle and we will finish the short on the DVX. That means, however, that we can't shoot Advanced. Luckily, the FX1 footage belongs to the film's intro, so after a title sequence we'll pray the audience won't realize the massive change.

Thanks for your scene file. I'll check it out, except the Advanced.

Thanks again.

thanks four eyes. the image looks great, but i think i may bring the saturation back up.

i named the scene 4EYED

the cleanest image possible would be like -7detail -7 vertical detail +7 coring and with master ped at -15 ahah....and im sure it would look rediculous. if you want a clean image just keep the detail in the upper negatives and up the coring a bit....keeping master pedestal down too will help but it really depends how deep you want your blacks. BTW there is really no reason to shoot 24adv unless your going to film out....just forces you into a 23.98 timeline which is unneccessary.....and you can always take 24p footage and make it "advanced" or true 24p by using a program like cinematools if you needed....just incase someone picks up your film and decided to spend a hundred grand to put it on 35mm

i like my black deep, but -15 what be ridiculous. between -2 and -5 is prime for my liking. I'll take a look-see at your -7 and -7 and +7 setting.

i wasn't palnning on shoot scene ADV because my DVX footage needs to be on the same timeline as FX1 footgage. Thanks for the concern anyway, i appreciate it.

i've got cinematools and it did a great job of turning 60i footage in 24fps (60i to 24p via GFilm and then 24p to 24fps via cinematools).

Thanks
