SCENE FILE X-CHANGE test site is up...

it would be nice to be able to see 3 or 4 large pictures on the screen all at once to examine the difference,

Along these lines while others are offering comments this Director would like to see a card that has:

1. A center picture for each effect that is untouched "raw" factory setting for each respective setting
2. A picture to the left of that center "untouched raw" picture which is the furthest "negative" number value for that respective setting
3. A picture to the right of that center "untouched raw" picture which is the furthest "positve" number value for that respective setting

Having this for each of the respective settings would in a glance tell me as a director (and as a newer DP) the direction that I want to go. Moreover, this shot should include at least three cards:

A. Indoors
B. Outdoors medium sun or lower light
C. Outdoors bright sun

Very interesting thread. One that I hope to be able to contribute to in the near future.

Can anyone give me a good place to start with scene file settings for the HVX in outdoor/extreme sunlight situations? I'm going to be in Ecuador at the end of the month and therefore realize that I'll have to change the configurations accordingly. I will be shooting some action but really a mixture of wildlife and sport.

we have gone a whole new direction with the site. its much more automated from an upload perspective. you can browse to your scene file/sd card and it will autofill and upload all the settings. download and install, (and publishing a sample still image) however will still be the responsibility of the user.

thank you everyone for the suggestions and the comments. the only thing we really CANT do is the baseline image then the SAME image "effected" as - as im aware, there is no way to import (and effect) a still image or previously shot video with the hvx. we could probably build a reasonable simulator in photoshop, but the combinations would be astronimical...

if im wrong, id welcome someone telling me how to pull it off...

Hey Guys,
This could be a really valuable resource for sure. I really hope this page gets up and going. Barry I saw your comment about spending tons of time publishing scene files and sometimes you don't get any response for months at a time. Let me take this moment to say thanks then. I hope it isn't months till someone else does, because I know there are tons of people using you files on a regular basis. I have been using your scene files a fair amount, and now that I am trying to make my own I have lots of respect for the time you must have spent to get yours the way you like them. Right now I am working on a file that mimics the way my old Polaroid camera looks in the snow. I will post some results when I get closer to a final product I am happy with. Yay!

I spent a lot of time trying to match a dozen of the Magic Bullet Movie Looks scene files on the DVX DVD. :/

Sorry I'm still kinda new here, but I have been looking for things like that. I'm still playing with the camera to see what all it can do.

Barry, where is such DVD available? does it Come with one of your books or Bootcamps? I still have not gotten your book from my rebate. But I would love to play with these files.

right now were kind of at an impasse. the existing version is of no value because it has no downloadable files. and the new more feature rich version isnt finished yet.

if people will start sending me their files, i can get the existing version up and running in short order
