scene file settings for the snow

I am going to Mammoth, CA tomorrow to shoot a snowboarding event set to air on the cable TV channel: FuelTV! They want it in 16:9 so I am planning on shooting squeeze. A lot of people say you should use letterbox for TV. If you think I should instead of squeeze please tell me! I have never used my DVX in the snow before so I would like a good setup for a scene file. I have changed every single one on my camera so if I should use one of the factory sets, please tell me them. My scene file right now is:
Detail: 4
V Detail: 2
Detail Coring: 1
Chroma Level: 0
Chroma Phase: 0
Color Temperature: -1
Master Pedestal: -4
Auto Iris Level: 0
Gamma: Black Press
Knee: Auto
Matrix: Cinelike
Skin Tone Detail: Off
V Detail Frequency: Mid
Progressive: 60i

This is how I'd set it for snow personally.

Detail: 2
V Detail: 2
Detail Coring: 1
Chroma Level: 0
Chroma Phase: 0
Color Temperature: -1
Master Pedestal: +1
Auto Iris Level: 0
Gamma: CINELIKE D
Knee: Auto
Matrix: Cinelike
Skin Tone Detail: Off
V Detail Frequency: THIN
Progressive: 24p standard

I would stick with SQUEEZE because that is truly 16:9, letterbox is not. Plus set the display to 4:3, it will looked squished, but it will keep you from overscanning the image.

i shoot snowboarding all the time and yeah your settings look about right.

i shoot letterbox personally and it comes out great but its all up to you

They want it in 16:9 so I am planning on shooting squeeze.
if they want it in 16:9 then shoot squeez. no doubt

I never shot in the snow but if it's a sunny day I could imagine you would get an over exposed image background. so maybe a reflector would be nice if you are interviewing people.
Good luck and have fun:happy:
