Scene file settings all to '0' and get the look in post?

Hi Everyone,

I know the question of 'How do I get the most film type look with the HVX?' is posted a lot on this site, but I need to know if it would just be better to set everything in the scene file settings to '0' and just do all of the contrast, colour correction, etc... in post on FCP.

I know it is a mixture of :
  • Lighting
  • Sound
  • Camera work
  • Script
  • Sets
  • Actors
But I'm shooting a short film and most of the shots will be taken at night on the street and some from inside a car, I want the colours to be muted nearly to black and white with high contrast, with a chiaroscuro look.

Any suggestions would be good or if anyone has any scene file settings they could send for me to test out, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

if you manage to achieve a strong chiaroscuro style please let me know how you do it,
love that look, would be great to have some basic settings to work from,

I have had two DP's that shoot with the HVX tell me they set everything to zero and adjust / CC in post.
