Can't get the cam to produce a decent image.
Ive tried various settings from fellow board members with little luck. Nothing is popping.
Using good glass too.
Wonder if im lousing up the capture/timline/export workflow? I seem to remember a thread about noise problems.
Im on an i5 with FC7.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will post some tomorrow.
I don't have an hd monitor, just what the 27 inch iMac gives me.
Looks good on the LCD , then once I log and trans it look very humble

John, You should find someone with an HD monitor so you can see the footage played back from the camera, that will help you interpret what the NLE/Computer is doing. Really.

Good luck,

Jan

In L&T, check your settings for the import. Click on the gear wheel icon, then Preferences. Scroll down to AVCHD. You should be importing as ProRes or ProRes HQ, or even ProRes LT as some have said it's okay as well. Also in L&T, before actually importing, how does it look in the viewer?

Just a suggestion.

Relax...

then ....Stop messing with camera settings. (Walk before you run)

This camera is great out of the box so start there.

Get your ingest workflow correct, check on a decent monitor ...(we can only assume you know how to light and expose the image correctly in the first place.)

Post up your issue as a screen grab.

How have you dialed in picture profiles with your previous cameras, and assured they looked good?

Also, watching something in full screen, with full brightness, is only going to inflate your pixels and exaggerate noise.
