Scene File Recommendations

I have an HMC 150. I am doing sort of a technical production. I want to show cracks and fissures in asphalt and sidewalks. I will be using the widest setting. I would like the image to be as sharp as possible (without having ridiculous artifact noise from over-doing the sharpness). Contrast would be nice too, to bring the cracks into relief, but that may be more a function of lighting.

I realize I can experiment, and I am. But there are a thousand (or more) possible combinations of the various scene file settings. So if anyone here has already figured out the formula for the sharpest image at wide angle in daylight, I would be grateful for your recommendations.

Thank you in advance!

Yes, after much experimenting, I ended up back at Spark, which is where i started. :)

In case it helps someone else... i learned that my original problem was trusting auto-focus to dial in a good setting and then locking that down with manual focus. But I was locking in a soft (slightly inaccurate) distance. So I have found that being much more diligent and vigilant about focus really improved the sharpness of my content. Also, deviating from Spark by cranking up or down various settings that should "sharpen' the image, in fact, just seemed to introduce noise and make the picture look odd at their respective extremes. Tweaking those settings only a little produced no real perceptible change. So in the end, i concluded, why bother. I went back to Spark, which has always been my favorite anyway.

+1 to Spark. Note that alot of people (myself included) at first wanted to bump up things like Chroma... When you are only working with the HMC, its ok, but the moment you start working with other cameras you will start reducing your settings back to default. I still find it difficult to match my HMC with my GH2. Its just too drastic.

Spark is ultimately my favourite. Here's another that's similar.

It's a bit noisier than spark, a bit more saturated, and provides a wee bit more dynamic range, which is handy for outdoors and bright skies.
