Scene File Advice

I am going to Italy next month to shoot some food "artisans" in their respective kitchens. Any advice on settings. The challenge is that I have been told NO external lighting, and who knows what kind of natural light there will be in a 200-300 year old kitchen. I want to go for a warmish look, but want to be careful about flames (from cooking) blowing out the video. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. By the way...no, I do not have the luxury of checking out the various shoot locations in advance.

Ok Ill make a suggestion. Shoot 24pa, mped around 5, white balance against a very pale blue at the location. Shutter speed.. hmmm will they be cooking? some flames from flambe action? hmm try and get it as high as you can keeping your fstop around f4.6.

Heh I like that..... might go get me some flambe action now.

much thanks for the info. Yes, some of them will be cooking. Guess the f in fstop stands for flambe!
