scene cuts in camera jumping

In my most recent dvx100 footage the camera cuts between takes are not normal. There is a slight flash and the sound blurts in at the transition.

Anyone experience this or have ideas about what could be causing it? btw, the tape was raw and not striped with TC.

Shooting 24P or PA? There is a slight delay when starting...so you shouldn't call "Action" until the timecode starts changing in the viewfinder.

I'm shooting normal 30i (scene file 1) and have not seen this issue before. My concern is that the camera may not be tracking the timecode properly or something else might be at work.

Wait even longer to call action, call out camera...camera op starts recording, when the timecode starts running, he calls "Speed"...and then do your slating or whatever you do, and then call action...so there can even be 10-15 seconds of footage before you even start action.
