Scarlett Versus HVX200 buzz

Not another spec war, but just in terms of buzz, which has generated more nail biting, calendar checking and excitement? I'm not a HVX200 owner, but I don't think the Scarlett buzz is nearly as intense as the 200. Opinions?

Report back but only after you have field tested this camera.
 
HVX is several years old and the scarlet is probably a year away. What is to compare? Plus, Panasonic announces cameras when they are ready... not when they are simply thought of. Big difference.

agreed. HVX was a super big deal when it was first announced. I think at the time more people knew about it than people now know about scarlet. so I guess HVX had more buzz at the time. I guess we have to wait and see if tomorrow changes that.
 
Neither comes close to the original DVX buzz, 24P was a real revolution. Scarlet is very very localized, a lot of filmmakers I work with aren't even aware that new specs are coming out tomorrow in fact they think Scarlet was just scrapped.
 
DVXuser really hit the big time during the buzz for the HVX200. It was allready huge before, but the place was really hopping when the HVX200 came out.

Those who remember IBC 2005 probabaly remember this:

Yes, that's an 8GB card beeing pimped as the "new hotness".


And looking back at some of those big threads from 2005 ("Wanna Peak?", "HVX footage" [Both parts!]), it's really hard to name any other thread that even comes close in online buzz.


The original DVX100 was before I knew of 'user.

so when are they making the announcement? is there an official time or anything?
