Scare Fest - WINNERS

hey, guys. gonna wrangle up some prizes for the winners best I can, and will contact you folks.

We're gonna take a little break after this fest. get some of the long overdue changes implemented.

if anyone is clamoring for something, maybe we'll do a little minifest in the interim... but, not doing another big fest until we've got some more pieces of the puzzle in place to better serve you.
 
and congrats and thanks to those of you who participated in the process. haven't had a chance to watch any of them myself this time yet... which is a first... but am looking forward to seeing how it all went down.

Anything to keep the filmmaking flowing :D even if there are no prizes just a chance to make films and get feedback on them is enough for me. I think a minifest is a great idea!
 
One thing next time that should be considered is a mass email to ALL the users of this DVXuser.com forum once the top 6 finalists have been choosen. Not everyone has the time or patience to sit through the initial entries, but I think you can really get some buzz going if you just let everyone know about it. Once they watch the six, some maybe inclined to watch the rest of the entries and therefore spark their interests in the next fest... I'm sure there are others out there thinking to themselves.. "Hell, I could do something on par if not better than that!!"

Even if no prizes are awarded next round, I still think it should be all out. A mini fest will fizzle the contest out all together IMO.

If you are going to hold off, I would get off this Drama Fest in the Cupid day crap and make it a big blockbuster mid spring.. give it a march or april deadline. Maybe even throw in a few more 'must haves' such as lines of dialog, props, certain locations that are accessible to everyone. Just throwing out some ideas.

Maybe the mods are burnt out... Maybe the films in terms of quality are just not cutting it anymore therefore loosing the interests of sponsors?? I just hate to see the thing slow down. I'm sure most of us don't want that to happen either.

Perhaps the Fest needs some fresh blood to take it over?

Congrats Peeps! I'm glad I entered. I'm sorry it wasn't complete, but the learning was worth it. Mad love to DVXUsers everywhere!
 
Congrats to the winners and thanks to the mods for making this happen. Big or small I always find these inspiring. This community is rich and the best days lay ahead.
