Hi, all.
Just a quick note, because this is going around and one of my colleagues was scammed today for a couple hundred dollars. There’s an elaborate, and very convincing, fake Musician’s Friend website operating right now and claiming to have a huge sale with 70% off warehouse overstock.
The website is pretty impressive, but there are some tell-tale signs of a scam. First and foremost, the URL is a little off. Close enough that people may not notice, but a closer look shows that it’s not the actual Musician’s Friend URL. There is text on the landing page that is just odd enough to raise questions. Also, the sale prices are way too good to be true.
I called the real retailer today and spoke with one of their reps. They are painfully aware of the scam site, and have heard from too many people who fell for it.
Be safe out there. And if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
