SBP2 HHD compatibility

[DavidsWeb]

I have a 80GB Maxtor SBP2 compatible HDD and the HVX200 doesn't seem to be able to recognize it. Does anyone know if there's a list of HDD's that will or will not be recognized by the HVX200? Alternatively (and preferably), is there a way to force the HVX to recognize my HDD?

The HVX won't ever see a USB drive, and for firewire drives you have to set the camera into 1394 HOST mode and then switch into PC/DUB mode. You cannot record live onto an external hard disk (unless there's some sort of intermediary processor, such as a firestore or computer, translating the streaming A/VC data into SBP2 packet data).
