Saw II

Ummmm, whetether or not you find it scary is irrelevant. The fact is Scream is a horror movie.

Correct. I don't find any movie scary anymore, but that doesn't mean that they aren't horror movies.

Movies aren't scary, but having to sit through some movies is. I would rather poke my eye out with a spork than be forced to sit through trash like Pearl Harbor again. I'd even volunteer to have my head put in that death mask from Saw II (see, this is on topic) before having to sit through that lump of dinosaur crap again... Oooh, I haven't seen Jurasic Park in years... I might watch that again this weekend.

Beg to differ... some are downright scary...Exorcist??? Talking about the first time you saw it in a darkened theatre, not the 100th at home. Movies can be very frightening as in scary, or frighteningly awful like Pearl Harbor.

I completely agree. Tonight I was watching John Carpenter's The Thing. I haven't seen this movie is what? Ten years? Maybe more.

There are a couple of huge jumps, plus the paranoia that even sets in as a viewer can be defined as only... Scary

hated the first "Saw" no inclination to see the second one. i'm not a big horror movie fan in general... its not cause i get scared (cause i dont) its that to me if youve seen one horror movie you've seen them all. to me most all of them are nearly exactly alike (there are a few exceptions) but in general is what i mean

Yeah, totally. That was one of JC's best movies period and has some great fear inducing moments in it.

True in a very broad sense may be. But if you've seen one Star Trek have you seen them all? If you've seen one murder mystery have you seen them all, since they are basically the same--someone dies, someone else solves the crime?

The slasher genre of horror certainly has its imitators and have the same thing in common---teens will get killed.

But there is so much more to horror than that. If you saw Saw, does that mean you've seen The Thing, The Exorcist, Psycho, The Birds, Frankenstein... I don't think so.

Horror is more than stupid sex starved kids getting killed by hockey mask wearing killers.

Should be interesting... I think, personally, its going to be more gory and violent than scary, but I have high hopes for it!

(fingers crossed)

gezsus dude, take a pill.

Not sure why I need pill when you're just wrong. But I'll take one none the less if it will make you happy and stop saying Scream isn't a horror movie.

* Swallow *

There.

Feel better?

I know I do.
