Saw II

what do u guys think of this one?

I like the photography, and some of the greeninsh colors on "the house"
great film, I'm not into horror but this one is really good

it took only about a month and a half to shoot it and it was out exactly a year after the first one.

I really liked it. I'd go so far as to say that I liked it better than the original (which I also liked). I thought the script was better and the acting was WAY better in the second one.

I liked S2 a lot, but not better because this one just didn't end with the same holy **** kind of a feeling that S1 did. I saw the end coming and it wasn't that surprising anyway, even if I hadn't guessed it earlier.

The acting was better, except the drug dealer...he was awful....just awful...

This one left more plot questions than the first one, but still a worthy, solid sequel. I was afraid it would be garbage, especially after seeing The Fog remake a few weeks before.

What ticks me off is the whole background and how it doesnt mix. The jigsaw guy says he has never killed anyone....but later on you see the girl from WB die from poison, in which HE enduced... EH hemmmm, isn't that considered murder? I just thought that was stupid

the drug dealer was terrible. other than that i wouldn't go and far and say it was a great movie, but entertaining to watch with the friends

yes, and may I add. Just another one of those movie's aiming for sequels. And with this movie, i wouldnt doubt there be a "prequel".

I think the series has been clever enough just far. The first one had a really awesome ending and just enough gore to make up for its faults. It made a lot of money and we have Saw II, which is a good sequel over all... what will be interesting to see is how the series progresses... only so many times you can just watch the gadgets and games and gore. It will get old fast. If it were my bankroll, I would have done Saw II and III at the same time, in terms of writing and do a story that leaves you hanging enough to want more and have it wrapped up in III. Just me, though.

yep, was good, but doesn't compare to the first, first was amazing I loved it. The acting was much better in 2 of course.

I saw it tonight and I actually disagree with most of the comments regarding the film so far. It was certainly a very modern horror film, lots of quick cuts, blown out sounds, and overly complicated for what it was, but at the same time it was very clever. Most movies that try to have these twists in them I normally figure out, but Saw (both the first and this sequel) kept me going. Obviously there are certain elements you do figure out, but I actually really enjoyed this film. The quick cuts of the editing actually made the movie more enjoyable, but more than that, I liked the progression of the story.

Now this opinion could be completely jaded. I love the experience of going to a theatre, how the screen takes up your entire field of vision, the sound is overwhelming, and the energy of the audience comes and goes like waves on the beach. There has never been a movie going experience I didn't enjoy, even if I don't like the movie, but the experience aside, I really did enjoy this movie and think it was pretty good. I will purchase it when it comes out on DVD.

All that being said, it looked like it was a massive magic bullet treatment though.

Was it made by the same guys that made the first one or did a studio take it over?

They produced and shared writing credit but a newbie directed this one.

While I was admittedly entertained anything that founds itself on "twists" is bound to fail. Just look at M. Night Shamalamdingdong's career.

While I won't reveal anything, didn't anyone else think the ending was weak? Definitely not the mindblower of the first.

To a certain extent, but they want to continue to series, so it makes sense to me. In that suspense, horror, thriller way, the SAW Franchise is quickly becoming the leader of the pact of available movies. I didn't have a problem with the ending, and actually enjoyed it.

Then again, maybe I have become such a product of Hollywood **** that I excuse openended endings specifically designed to tie into the future installments. It's a possibility I won't deny.

I thought it was a much tighter script and storyline than the first. Acting was better(No Cary Elwes). But, the whole cop subplot once again felt like it was there just to fill time and the girl taking over as the killer didn't do it for me. I did like how they ended back in the bathroon from the first.
