Saving files in less space

Which is the best way to keep the files from a completed Avid edition safe and ready for future applications?

What are the files to save, in what way should they be saved and all that?

Should they be consolidated?

My idea is to use an HD just for that, as I don't think putting them in DVDs as data will work. Or can I do that?

I have two 50-minute documentary I recently finished that I would like to clear their space off.

Consolidate the timelines to your backup hard disks for storage. You'll save your project folder with sequences and you'll save your OMFI Media Files associated with the project.

For safety I also save my Attic files.
