Im going for this look in my video where..the saturation is on verrrrry high...and everything is really colorful. But, when i boost up the saturation...the skin tones on my actors get really red and they look like they have really bad sunburns on them as in the picture below.

how do i get rid of all that redness!?!! its driving me crazzy. And i know After Effects is good with color correction and stuff like that..but..i cant get After Effects cuz its waaaaaaayy to exspensive..so i gatta stick wit Vegas's FX

Im confused....i duno how to get rid of the red skin tone on far away objects....crap.

Color balance -- lower the red in the mid-tones.

Color curves -- step down the red.

Primary color-corrector -- dial down the reds there.

Secondary color-corrector -- lower saturation on reds.

DV is a very red-loving format.

I did something similar a while ago.

I forget the details, but it involved duplicating the track, selecting only the skin-tones using the secondary colour-corrector and darkening all the rest, and compositing it over the duplicate track which had all the wacky effects.

It looked cool, because the eyes were showing through from the duplicate track and also had effects applied. Very trippy.

Ditto Horsefilms reccomendation. That free plug in is MUCH faster than doing it with curves and primary/secondary color correction. It can also selectively adjust the other color areas as well.

What is SSE:

The Streaming SIMD Extensions enhance the Intel x86 architecture in four ways:
8 new 128-bit SIMD floating-point registers that can be directly addressed;
50 new instructions that work on packed floating-point data;
8 new instructions designed to control cacheability of all MMX and 32-bit x86 data types, including the ability to stream data to memory without polluting the caches, and to prefetch data before it is actually used;
12 new instructions that extend the MMX instruction set.

Q: What is AMD's 3DNow!™ technology?

A: 3DNow!™ technology is the first innovation to the x86 processor architecture that significantly enhances floating-point-intensive, 3D graphics and multimedia performance for today's mainstream Microsoft Windows compatible personal computers. Benefits of 3DNow! technology include leading-edge 3D performance, more realistic and lifelike 3D imaging and graphics, big screen sound and video, and the ultimate Internet experience.
