Hello guys and gals, just wanted to share a music video I have shot and edited.

Equipment:
dvx100A
mini 35
nikon lenses. 24, 35, 50

Edit in FCpro and post in Shake and AE

The group is produced by many great artists such as Wolfgang Flür and Karl Bartos from Kraftwerk but no, I haven’t met them :)
The day after we shot the video they played live with Wolfgang but I where at home editing ... crapy business... :P

(30 mb)

Thanks for showing what the mini 35 is capable of in the real world. Some excellent shots in there.

That was the most random, yet coolest music clip ever! Music was cool, the shots looked unbelievable and it was cut very well. It was interesting how you put credits throughout it as if it was the introduction to a film, not sure if it was good or bad, but interesting nonetheless.

Well done :)

Nice job.......... I'm curious, can you tell me what specific effect(s) in the video you used shake to accomplish?

Thanks

Is this what music videos look like over there? It was very odd.. almost like an experimental artsy film. The credits throughout made it seem like an intro to something, not an actual stand alone video. Some good looking shots in there though.

Thanks for the feedback, the video is supposed to be a little weird. We'd tried to get a "intro" feel for a short or a feature for the video.
It’s kind a hard to se in the web version but the "fireflies" are in some of the wider shots as well. There made in AE with Trapcode and tracked in Shake. Shake also stood for the colour correction, but FCpro was the main tool for everything. The light flairs are super8 samples taken from an earlier video.

Hey Judo,
Awesome video right down my alley. Checked your website what a bunch of awesome videos, tight editing, edgy colour correction I could keep kissing your ass. Nice use of AE. Anyway it looked like you used super 8 in one of the videos is that right. Also what are the various cameras you have used for the clips and do many others use the mini 35 in them. Just wondering as I am about to do my first clip and I am thinking of doing one part greenscreen like you did for one of the spitts vids and the other half going for a film look any camera references would be great once again love your work

That was extremely disturbing. I'm not sure why, but the bag head guy scares the s h i t out of me. And mouse boy...freaky man. Really freaky.

Beautiful shots, great CC. Outstanding work.

Really nice job.

This was really cool. The shot of the guy putting makeup on I could swear it was 35mm. Loved that vintage look. Congratulations.

liked the video
liked the music
liked the fire flies a lot
liked the color correction a lot
don't like the credits
if you tried to achieve something with them it didnt really work

Thanks for the positive feedback everybody!

Thank you! You are more than welcome to kiss my ass :P
I haven’t worked with greenscreen before, the Spitts video you mention is just shot in a white studio using JVC DV 500, oh man I don’t miss that camera.. ;)
Just this video (Sapporo 72) is shot with the mini 35, other cameras used is Canon XL1s (Firestone, Down And Away)
The Captain Fantastic vid is Super 8 (I used some of the light flairs from this video for Sapporo 72) Also the Svenska kraftnät commercial is super 8.

(My website is currently under construction but when its finished you will also be able to look at some 35mm stuff I've done and clips from a feature, shot with the DVX100A + mini 35)

Just finished watching Sapporo and mustascho, both are really well done, thanks for letting is in on your work, I especially liked mustascho, those guys looked like they were having a lot of fun! Looking forward to watching the others.
