For sale is a Sanyo HD2000A in excellent condition plus accessories for $275, plus shipping. It is a fully manual camera that opens up to f1.8, and it sports a 10x optical zoom. I bought it for the fast lens and manual features, to catch quick action in low light.
The HD2000A can shoot full HD at 60P (1920x1080P/60). Shooting at 60P not only allows one create gentle slow motion effects, but it also facilitates transcoding to 30P and/or 24P without a pulldown (just like the Panasonic Varicam technique). The HD2000 also shoots full HD at 30P and 60i, 1280x720 and 640x480 at 30p, along with high speed frame rates of 240P at 448x336, and 600p at 192x108 (an unusable resolution). It would probably still be the least expensive camera that shoots full HD at 60P, if it was currently being manufacturer's list price.
It records MP4 files to SDHC cards.
The manual focus is slow and coarse, but the joystick on the back allows one to very easily lock/unlock the finer auto-focus on the fly. Depending on the focus settings in the menus, the auto-focus can seem peculiar, but once one gets the hang of using the auto-focus with the lock/unlock feature, speedy "manual" focusing is a breeze.
Manually adjusting aperture and shutter speed is easy with the joystick, but the manual exposure can't be changed during recording.
The Sanyo line shoots a little contrastier than most other cameras, but it is easy enough to flatten the lighting a little to compensate for the higher contrast.
By the way, the HD2000A also shoots still photographs up to 8 megapixels.
The image above shows almost everything that is included in the package:
- HD2000A in its Docking station, with Fotodiox 40.5mm UV filter, Fotodiox 40.5mm-to-43mm step-up ring, Fotodiox DVs-43mm lens hood (w/cap), and HD2000A hand strap;
- Targus DBUV02 Case;
- AC adapter/power cord;
- Two unused cable interference cores (in plastic bags);
- Female USB cable (in plastic bag);
- Male USB cable (in plastic bag);
- Stereo RCA audio cable;
- Component video w/stereo audio cable;
- SD video w/stereo audio and S-video cable;
- Sanyo Exacti software CD and HD2000A manuals;
- Soft drawstring camera case;
- Microphone connection cable (with interference core);
- Xacti lens cap (with "toothpick" spring mod;
- Gold mono to stereo mic adapter;
- Cheap earbuds;
- Travel plug adapter for the battery charger;
- Tekiro AC/DC battery charger;
- Sanyo HD2000A remote wireless remote control (in plastic bag);
- Wasabi BTR-KLIC-5001 2100mAh camera battery;
- Fotodiox 43mm-to-52mm step-up ring (in plastic bag, allows use of standard 52mm filters for Nikkor lenses);
- Fotodiox 40.5mm Diffuser filter (in filter case);
- Fotodiox 40.5mm Circular Polarizer filter (in filter case);
- Empty filter case for Photodiox 40.5mm UV filter.
Also included in the package (but not shown) is the Sanyo brand camera battery, the car cigarette lighter adapter for the Tekiro Charger, and a complimentary, cheap speaker for an mp3 player (which Tekiro included with the charger).
This camera works perfectly and is unblemished. However, a few days ago, I made a small scratch on the outside of the 40.5mm-to-43mm step-up ring and also on the 40.5mm UV filter, when I separated them without having a filter wrench. These scratches on the sides of the step-up ring and filter can be seen in this side view of the camera below (with the black background).

I am happy to post/send larger photos, if needed.
It would be great to deal in-person with someone in Los Angeles, Houston or Las Vegas.
Thanks!
