Doe anybody know if the Sanken Cs3e handle RF better than the CS3, so far the CS3 is no doing a good job in "RF hell", NYC. Every fck***n body owns a Iphone in this city and the Sanken is being killed by the Apple toy.

Damn. I have the Cs3e and have never had any troubles. It is a beautiful mic. IPhone isn't being released in Japan though....as far as I know...

and you think neuman or schoeps are betetr ?
you can add filter inside the xlr connector , may help abit ( 2 capasitors)
exept sennheisers which the most rf emunited but got hits as well from some of the celphones , all the other mics have problems with .

I find myself working around heavy RF interference on a regular basis (cell phones, high-voltage arcs, hydro-electric transmission transformers etc.), and the best solution I've come across is to use T-powered MKH-series Sennheiser mics.

I'm using both a `416t and and an `816t, and I've been very happy with their performance. In the past, I've also used a `415t without any problems. Ironically, their newer phantom powered mics (eg. MKH60, MKH30) don't hold up quite as well.

I can't say Schoeps are better but my neumann kmr81 with Low cut on, is working better with the cell phones. Not just that, my neumann km185 that doesn't have any low Cut has being less sensitive to Rf than this sanken Cs3, but I have to use the roll off on my Wendt. i don't know what is better or not, but I have more problems with the Cs3 than with the neumann so far, even if I would like to use the Cs3 more than the neumann.

cant speak for the CS3 but i own CS3E and work in NY. No problems so far with rf. then again, i havent been 40+ stories up in line of sight with Empire antennas. As for cell phones, iphones, trios, no issues. have been using the mic for 8 months now. Cable shielding and the boom pole/ shockmount might be adding to your interference problem depending on what its made of. I have used mkh60 with aluminum pole and got mexican radio, switched to carbon fiber, no issue.

Only mic I have ever seen that doesn't suffer from rf problems is the Senn MKH series (not the ME series).

Have you tried wrapping your zeppelin in tin foil? ;)

But seriously, try a different cable, sometimes they are the culprit.

Cheers
