Sandisk announce 32GB Extreme III SDHC

[GuyB]

Well it may not be called III but basically this is what it is...

http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/25/sandisks-32gb-class-10-sdhc-card-competes-for-worlds-fastest/

Class 10 (like Panasonics) but 30MBps (vs Panasonics 22MBps), avaliability August

Price: lets face it, its not going to compare with the Transcend 32GB Class 6

These card manufacturers seem to creating new Class ratings each time they announce something new. I thought Class 6 is supposed to be capable of 30Mb/s?

Yeah well there's theoretical and then there's ACTUAL. Give me actual any day.

I don't know if it's a physics thing or what but the bigger the hard drive and the bigger the memory card the slower it is. Evidenced by the transfer speed status bar whenever I'm copying files.

Old 2 GB Ultra II SD cards from San Disk: Fast

Newer 8 GB Extreme III Sandisk: Not as fast.
