I'm a director looking for a producer / collaborator in San Francisco (the greater bayarea is fine too) to produce a short that I'd like to shoot over the summer, and maybe more projects after that. I'd like to meet someone who is in possession of a bent towards the administrative and the practical to work with.
As I'm sure we're all familiar with, this is a no-budget kind of situation. Think Cassavetes, or mumblecore, for an idea of the kind of small, friends-and-relations production atmosphere we'd be shooting for.
If these names ring a bell, well all the better: Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Shinji Aoyama, Michael Winterbottom, Tim Orr, Aaron Katz, Tarkovsky, Resnais, Godard, Mitchell & Webb, Wong Kar-Wai, Uta Breisewitz (among many, many others).
This is an unpaid gig but a gig nonetheless; it'd be an opportunity to work with like-minded people and make something interesting. Filmmaking cohorts of all shapes and sizes are welcome, and anyone and everyone interested is encouraged to drop me a line; experience, while also welcome, is unnecessary.
