I decided to try out the time-lapse mode and caught the following video today.  Above is a frame from the video.

http://www.hanskellner.com/archives/2004/05/17/san_francisco_bay_time_lapse_video.html

I recorded in squeeze mode at 30p (F3 default) and 1/120. Manually adjusted the aperture over time. The recording interval was set to 1 minute with 5 sec bursts.

Adjusted the speed 1200% in post but otherwise left it untouched.

That was great! nice choice of music to accompany it. That was nice. Thats all I have to say. :)

Re: San Francisco Bay Time Lapse Video

Hey -- way cool. Which timelaps setting(s) did you use to get the whole day in?

Re: San Francisco Bay Time Lapse Video

That was great!. Now I'm going to ask a rookie question. How were you able to do the recording interval???

Re: San Francisco Bay Time Lapse Video

It was a Barge I think. They tend to make mad cash and kick it on a boat all day.

Sigh....

I too once spent my time chilling on boats and getting paid. :'(

1. Activate the Menu
2. Select Recording Setup
3. Scroll down and select Interval Rec then select On
4. Select Rec Time (I used 0.5s)
5. Select Interval Time (I used 1m)

Exit back out.

When you select Record the camera will then begin recording in bursts based on the Rec Time setting and at intervals based on the Interval Time setting.

Also, I don't have the info handy but I believe you must be in 60i or 30p to do interval recording.

Re: San Francisco Bay Time Lapse Video

Not to throw you all off topic (sorry, Hansk), but...

Re: San Francisco Bay Time Lapse Video

and if visiting san francisco, don't forget to pass by pier 39...if yer lucky, you might find the, "bushman." ;D

great time lapse by the way....just watching it makes me want to take a visit this summer...

Re: San Francisco Bay Time Lapse Video

BUSHMAN!!!!!!! He wasn't there the day we went. He was all I heard about from the B&B owner.

Everyone's welcome at my house... just specify top or bottom bunk and I'll kick out one of the kids.

Hmm, that might make for a funny clip. I just might have to to go scope him out. The cops and local business owners don't like him and have been trying to get rid of him for years. Now that I think of it, if I capture him "performing" then it might be used against him as evidence. I wouldn't want that. Argh. :P

Re: San Francisco Bay Time Lapse Video

;D

Yep. Quicktime works fine now Hans, and I´m a happy viewer. Nice!

Re: San Francisco Bay Time Lapse Video
