San Diego-bound

Well, Oceanside to be more precise. The Fox family has decided to tempt (flaunt?) the laws of God and nature and put the kiddos on a flying metal tube this Saturday and head to SoCal. We'll be staying in Oceanside in some resort condo along with Megan's immediate family. Should be good times (not counting the flight, which I am not looking forward to). Any suggestions for what to do besides the usual? Already hitting Disney on Friday and possibly Legoland. Frankly, I'll be glad to get out of the 90+ degree Dallas heat.

We just got back from there a week ago after a 2 week trip with all the extended family.

Our kids thought legoland was kind of boring after the initial, "That's cool!" (Kids are 10 and 6)

They much preferred the San Diego Wild Animal Park (Run by the San Diego Zoo).

We also took a tour of the aircraft carrier, Star of India and russian sub. Very cool for us men (We ran through the russian sub shooting HD video and re-enacting scenes from our favorite movies).

vacation...in Oceanside? never though i'd hear that. haha...i joke...i'm about 12 miles east of there...lots to do in SD...Balboa Park/Zoo...they're right next to each other...shoot video...Visit Calumet photographic in Escondido (i live a few seconds from there)...great shop....i don't know, you're probably already here doing other things haha have fun, and welcome to my neighborhood!

The SD zoo is awfully fun, I would think even more so for a kid.

@ dottcon: Legoland is a bummer? We were excited to visit that one day.

EDIT: In-n-Out Burger!!!!!

Thanks, guys. We're about to head to the airport -- the plane ride will probably be the biggest adventure. I have a feeling we'll skip Legoland since the kiddos are so young. I can imagine NOT going to the Zoo.

And definitely getting an In-n-Out or three. Been about 4 1/2 years since I last had one.

I have achieved a 3x3 from In-n-Out. Man oh man, I hope I can get another before we leave.

Traveling yesterday was a beating, but at least the kiddos did great. The resort is nice -- right across the street from the pier. We all went to Ruby's on the pier last night. Guess it's a chain, but it was awesome and sitting there a 1/4 mile into the ocean at dusk didn't exactly anger me.

No idea what we're doing most of the week, but I don't really care. This weather is enough for me.

Seaworld is the best part of San Diego, hands down!! I cried during the orca show...

shut up. it's moving. heh.

I'll second seaworld. Last year I lived down the street from it and finally went when my family came and visited.
