SAL-2470Z do I need lense support?

I am beginning to think that I need lense support with this lense...? The FS100 seems VERY top heavy with the adapter and lense attached! The lense is 955g whereas the kit lense is 555g. Does anyone know how much weight the camera lense socket can take?

When i asked the question the general consensus was yes. The mount is held on with some quite small screws and best not to add too much force. Waving a kilo around on the end could take its toll.

I presume you are using an LA-EA2? In which case there's a tripod mount under it and that's what i will be using once i get my mount. The LA-EA1 has one also

Awesome. Thanks for the reply! Seems a shame to waste another of my tripods on it, but I guess I can use my lighting tripods?
