with:
500g/5400rpm harddrive
Intel® Q9000 45nm "Montevina" Core™2 Quad 2.0GHz w/6MB L2 On-die cache
4g ram
Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit Installed

1.Do u guys think this is ok for running:
Priemer pro cs3
After effects
Colorista

**Editing my DVX footage mostly BUT want to get AVCHD capable for the possibilty of editing HMC150 footage.**

3. On the RedGiant site they say colorista is not supported by vista 64bit, is this still the case?

4. Does PPcs4 pose much problems with the above stated Progams and OS. I just want to know if these things can work with PPCS3 and PPCS4 without a hassle.

Efficiency and portability is what i'm after.

thanks for ur advice:)

i will have to check that out. thanks for the reference.

But this laptop should handle AVCHD footage well though, right?

I'd go over to the HMC150 forum and look at the video card requirements on PCs for natively editing of AVCHD.

To be honest, I don't think that laptop has sufficient GPU capabilities for RT editing.

FWIW I just picked up a notebook from BOXX Technologies, with whom I have had very good experience (they built my desktop workstation, too). I don't use Colorista but so far this machine has been a satisfactory performer running Premiere and After Effects, along with the rest of my primary tool set...

Jambredz, i built one for you with the right hardware. i did best bang for buck. It has a really good proccessor, a gtx260m grahics card, 4gb memory, this setup with cs4.1 will edit avchd without a problem. remember you need cs4.1 or it wont work for avchd but will rip through anything else you throw at it. i have a beast for a computer that i just built and without cs4.1 it has trouble scrubbing through the timeline. it comes out to $1,909.00. build it to these exact specs and dont add any other unnecessary accessories and your good to go.
