Safety Cables for Camera Car Mount?

I will be shooting a car scene and asking a question if anyone knows of any kind of safety cable that I can use for my camera and the car mount.


I wil be using the t2i for this shot mounted on a car mount, but need some kind of safety for my gear

Dog leashes make good loose tethers in the event of a total failure. Apparently, big dogs have a higher working load limit, btw.

Ratchet straps (the kind with actual ratchet mechanisms) are good for tensioning the trays and arms down where necessary.

Dog leashes can be used as lanyards, not as the tensioning straps.

Do not need tension, this is only for some kind of safety in the event that the worst happens, as opposed to having nothing. Regardless thank you for the information.
