Hey all. I had no idea where to post this so I decided to do it here. I'm trying to purchase a HXR-MC2000u , and I would from B&H but money is tight. I know all about grey market and bait and switch sites, but, in my searches, I found this:

Which is google products, which has different sellers. The brand new B&H retail price for the MC2000 is $1,699 and I've found it at a few other places for a couple hundred dollars cheaper.
I'm closely looking at:

Overstock Digital
iBuysOnline
42nd Street Photo

and I was looking at RytherCamera, but I have no clue if they can be trusted. With over 600 positive ResellerRatings, a few said they tried calling and saying the Gray Market cameras were out of stock and wanted to sell the USA version for a couple hundred dollars more.
Any help on who is safe or not ?

- Fumfie also offers a great deal -

Thanks!

If it were me, I'd be more apt to drop $20 more and go with 42nd St. Photo. They advertize USA model and have a 40 year track record. Ryther lists a brick and mortar location but read some negative reviews on poor sales personnel. I would check with either one and make sure what all is included in the box. There have een stories of these cut rate places pulling factory included accessories and forcing the customer to "upgrade" to what is basically the same as was shipped from the factory.

I've been there, and even though loads of reviews are terrific, there still are a few that mention the Gray Market. :/

I've never purchased anything from the places you've listed but my friend had not so good experience. A while back both of us were purchasing a camera, I went with B&H and he went with one that had a cheaper price. At the end he ended up paying more because they charged him extra for every accessory that came with the camera. Also, i had my camera in 2 days and he waited for his at least 2 weeks.
