I'm burning Dvd copies of my las movie (720p standard), using Premiere pro 2 & Raylight & Adobe pro suite. What is the loseless quality way to burn dvd's without losing safe area video?
Alieno,
I am having trouble understanding your question. Are we talking standard Definition DVDs here?
First let me begin by saying there is no such thing as a lossless quality to DVD. The DVD-S (standard) format is MPEG-2 which by definition is a "Lossy" format, which means it throws away data to compress the data.
I am also having trouble understanding what you mean by safe area video? To me this normally means Safe TV Viewing area.
If perhaps you are asking: What is the best compression setting so that my DVD will play in most DVD players while retaining the most quality? This is a tricky question that varies depending on the compressing program that you use. I am not familiar with the PC side of DVD encoding, but the responces that you will get in this topic vary greatly by personal preference.
For instance some people swear by Apple's Compressor to do their conversion, others by Quicktime conversion or by the third party software BitVice.
I'm going to try to answer this in broad terms: you want a 2-pass Variable bit rate encoding with an average bit rate in the 6.0 range and the highest bit rate no higher than 6.8. I find that even though DVD players are supposed to be able to handle higher average bit rates, setting your average bit rate too high will cause skipping and freezing in some older and cheaper DVD player models.
So as usual, in order to strive for the highest compatibility you have to shoot for the lowest common denominator.
Anyways I hope that answered your question, though i'm still not sure if that is what you meant.
