I downloaded this thing, and holy crap is it fast! I've been getting a little dubious about speed claims with web browsers lately, but compared to Firefox it seems incredibly fast. Some websites load before I've finished depressing the mouse button. Give it a whirl--

Just downloaded it on an old G4 powerbook, its snappy as hell! For sure going to put this on the Mac Pro. They cut down the App's footprint, I think its around 13 megs now?

Just installed it on Mac Pro...web sites don't load anymore, they just open instantaneously..like wow, the fastest browser I have ever used.
 
So how do you like the wall 'o windows? I love it... I only visit less then about 6 total websites frequently... max of 10 different sites in a normal week... and now it's pick 'n click. That's a good interface... It's convincing me to switch up to leopard to get that same stacky thing on my desktop.
 
For me, I disabled it for the time being, the speed alone is enough for me, sometimes I get annoyed by Apple pushing new features on users (cough iTunes Genius cough)
 
I can't tell that it is any faster on my computer, but it probably has more to do with my wireless internet not being lighting fast. I love the top sites feature and I HATE how they changed the tabs. You have to click on just the right spot to select the tab or nothing will happen.
 
I'm digging it. I like the Wolf Blitzer wall of Wonder. I thought that was going to be a stupid gimmick, but it is actually a good way to navigate.

I can't help thinking it would lead to some trouble for people who are secretly viewing a lot of porn, and then suddenly a porn site jumps up onto their wall.
 
For anyone else that hates the new tabs and wants the old tabs back, here is a fix I found on the Apple forums that will allow you to have the old tabs on Safari Beta 4:

You can get the old familiar look back by going to Terminal (found in Applications/Utilities)

Enter this

defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSafari4TabBarIsOnTop -bool NO

hit enter, exit terminal, restart safari and the tabs are back on the bottom of the toolbar.

Anyone dumb enough to secretly look at a porn site on the same browser they do their regular surfing on, and without private browsing enabled, gets what they deserve.
