Sad to say Aussie / USA

[cyvideo]

Off topic but sad news broke down here in Aussie today. We have lost a number of Aussie folk to the bushfires this year but sad to say today further loss of life has occurred but this time it involved three guys from the States. These three were aircrew and were lost when their C130 Hercules retardant bomber went down. These three along with many others from around the world, the US of A, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, New Guinea etc have been a godsend to Aussie fire fighters who are battling the demons we have burning out of control this season. Talking amongst friends and family today we could only think of how the news must be going down with the families Stateside of those lost today. All I can say is that Australia really thanks those from other countries who have come down here to help quell this beast in our back yards. I lived in the Blue Mountains some 50 miles west of Sydney for some twenty years and filmed a number of major bushfires over the years. '94 saw me contracted 24/7 for weeks on end to a local national network to cover the fires and the stories that accompanied them. During that period I developed a very high regard for these fighters and anyone else who is prepared to fight these burning monsters. While we leave they go in. Whoever is your god ask them to spare a thought for all fire fighters world wide.

For those of you who don't know much about Aussie or who have never visited I think the following JPG will give you an idea of what Australia and this band of international fire fighting brothers have been facing. Yes it is basically to scale. Others have already asked.
