Sad Promo Clip Help

So I am trying to get this sad affect out of this clip+sound+text to help a local Charity (Together We Rise www.twr08.org)

I found that people seem to read the text and not the watch the girl. The girl is beyond sad/depressing/... when the clip is silent but when sound and text is added i think she looses her impact. So is there a way to make it all work together and get the message across? Thanks!

Just my 2cents..
I feel the text comes too fast, it pops too much. Maybe a fading in text would be more fitting?
The sound is great, the girl should actually not take 100% of the attention from the viewer, she is merely an enhancement and a visual connection to the goal of the video.

Just got to ask, is the video supposed to loop the girl? It's very odd. If that's all video material you got, I'd try and squeeze in the text in just one take instead of loop it 3 times.
