Sad day for me

Hey guys. I almost bit the bullet last night. I was coming home from a dinner party that a fellow DVXUser was having and it started snowing, I hit a ice patch and lived to tell about it. I jumped the curb, mowed down two signs and wrapped my car around a telephone pole. I hurt right now but I walked away from it in shock then tears then realized that I've been wandering the highway for about 15 minutes in the freezing cold while it snowed. I called 911 and couldn't tell the woman where I was so she got sarcastic with me, lol. I found a sign that mentioned the town name and then called back to get help. The cops came, looked at the car, looked in it, looked at me, looked back at the car then back at me and asked who was in the car. They couldn't believe that I walked out of that car unhurt. I can'e believe it. If you guys knew my story, my childhood, you'd understand when I say that I feel like an alley cat who used all 9 lives and is on borrowed time.

Well, I'm shook up but happy to be alive and unharmed. I wish I could have a one on one with god just to ask him why he feels I need to be here.

R.I.P. to my Pepsi blue...... :embarasse

Dude. Go see a Doctor anyway; just in case. Check your signs out.

Thanks god you walked away; insured I presume ?

Glad you're okay, if sore! It should be a happy day for you, that you are still here. Not a sad day, at all.

Be safe, Coffee.

Coffee,

The man upstairs was not only looking out for you but obviously has need of your services right here.

Take it easy.

Hey Coffee, glad to know your safe.

I been there before man, I lost control (it was raining) hit the curb and smashed into two other cars, the car was basically dead.

The strange thing is during the accident I actually witnessed two things:

(1) Bullet time
(2) Life flash before my eyes

I always wanted to know whether others had those same experiance, Coffee did you experiance any of those two during the crash?

P.S

Like my dad said, screw the car, so long as your ok thats the main thing. You can replace a car but can't replace a life.

Wow Coffee, you're getting a shout out for sure in my vid...

Did you take any pics of the wreck?

Glad you came out without much harm to yourself. Sucks about the car but it can be replaced. You can't and I'm sure all of us want to see more of your work. Hope you get to feeling better.

Glad everythings okay. Is this going to affect your short w/ cooney? Sucks, you just hear some of the best news, then get a bit of tragedy your way. Good luck.

Coffee, glad to see you're still with us! Go to the doctor man, you may have some internal injuries you don't know about.

Anhar, I got in a pretty bad car wreck 2 years ago when a woman ran a red light and put me out of commission. I was unconcious for 12 hours before I came to in the hospital where I didn't know what the hell happened to me. I had gadgets and gizmos a plenty, plus a very uncomfortable catheter that took me a few hours to figure out I had it (I had a scratch, so sue me).

Anyways, I don't remember the accident at all. I came out with a major major MAJOR concussion and a sprained ankle. It was weird though, after seeing the pictures of my car, I couldn't and still don't understand how I didn't break anything on my body. The woman ran straight into my door and collapsed the whole thing in. I was pulled out of the car without a scratch on me. Talk about luck or faith, but it's because of that accident I got my DVX. Insurance settlements are a slow process, but they come out well.

Long story short, Anhar, Coffee, and me, well guys. I think we are all here for a reason, maybe it's to be on DVXuser and meet all these great people, or maybe it's because we will be filmmaking the rest of our lives. Whatever it is, I'm happy to be here and I'm glad to see there's others of us who have survived horrible accidents too.

Yes to both.

My friend and I flipped a Jeep end over end 6 times in Mexico back in 1990; twas a bad scene.

6! Sheeesh!

Have you written to the Guiness Book of Records about that? (if you get it in the states.)

Glad you survived, man. It's amazing how quick these things happen, and how people can survive.

Just a few months ago, I had quite an experience. It was a rainy morning, and I was cruising down the Interstate. Around 55 MPH. Anyway, I slid on some road slick (it just started pouring). I still can't figure out how it happened, as it seems to defy physics, but I basically spun a full 360 and was slammed head-on by a speeding car. And even wierder - I only suffered a mild concussion and some cracked ribs. I got out of the hospital in a day; the other driver was in for two weeks with a coma :( They tell me had I not been driving a Volvo, I wouldn't be here today.

Before I blacked out, I was in that surreal, almost bullet-time trance. But I was watching from outside the car, as I were a spectator.

Wierd stuff. I'm not even going to try to make sense of it. I'm crazy to still be driving.

Cars can be replaced. You cannot.

I'm glad to hear that you're ok, I've been there myself about fifteen years ago, but I went to the doctor...hint, hint :) Still hurts to this day, but I'm here.

If you're like most people it'll make you depressed for a while and then you'll come out on the other side with even more creative energy. Cheating death can do that.

Thanks for sticking around.

Yes, and sorta. About two years ago I wrecked a convertible Karmann-Ghia going about 65-70mph on Interstate 10, surrounded by traffic. I lost control, turned perpendicular to the road, the the car flipped. At that point I knew - absolutely KNEW - I was dead. The wheels left the ground and that moment lasted forever. It was absolutely silent. I have never been more calm in my entire life. It was actually a really beautiful feeling. My life didn't really flash before my eyes, though. Instead I had the same single image/thought over and over. It's sort of personal so I'll spare you, but that's how it was. Then, eventually, the car slammed down upside down and stayed that way, skidding for over 1/4 mile before coming to a stop. I didn't hit any of the five cars that had been all around me, or anyone else, or the median. I left a tiny swab of my red paint on the tires of an 18-wheeler, which is a bit terrifying if you think about it. After the car stopped, I looked around, decided I was okay, got up under my own power, and walked to the side of the road without help. My left index finger no longer functions; I had no other injuries aside from some lost hair. Small price to pay.

What everyone here is saying is true; the car doesn't matter, the circumstances of the accident don't matter. Probably you should be dead or hurt a lot more than you are, but you aren't. Use that and go forward.

Coffee ...glad your still with us and OK!!!!!!
Take Johns advice and get checked over , just in case .
