Seven steps of pan & tilt drag adjustment. (For comparison, Ace head only has three steps, FSB8 has five steps)
Pan & tilt very smooth except when set to "zero" drag where I can hear some noise (though I don't see anything on camera).
Counterbalance set for heavier cameras, but can be turned off if you have a light rig.
