Sachtler Hot Pod - Aluminum Legs

Well used, good amount of scuffs & wear, but all the legs & pedestal move easily.

Will try to post pics when I have the chance.

I'm not sure if this is the 10 or the 14. I'll take another look to see if I can figure it out.

FYI - There are two variations of the Hot Pod. The 10 & the 14 model, for both the aluminum & carbon fiber models.

The only difference (as explained to me by a Sachtler rep at NAB) between the 10 & the 14 is how strong the hydraulic pedestal is.

The 10 is rated for 33lb, the 14 is rated for 55lb. This means if you put a 55lb rig on a "10" you'll have to push the pedestal up with your strength aiding the hydraulics (but the legs will have no problem holding a 55lb rig). If you have a 33lb rig on a "14" the hydraulic pedestal is going to shoot your rig up like it is a feather weight.

Edit:

I tried to take detailed photos, but just wanted to flag a couple things incase you didn't look over the photos closely.

It is missing the latch for the hook that keeps the column down. I never use that latch since it seems redundant & never had a problem with the regular "lock" lever.

It is also missing the hook at the took for attaching a strap. (Also something I've never used.)

Last "issue" is two of the legs have that "tab" broken off. I find this makes it a little easier to move an individual leg up or down, but with the tab broken you just have to "grab" the leg instead of just pushing the tab. But since the legs fall freely both up & down, I haven't felt this gets in the way of normal function.

So very well beat up & well used, but everything functions 100%. These things are tanks.
