S-video to composite (RCA) convertor

Hey guys,

Did any of you use the S-Video output before? Mine is a DVX102AE (Asian edition, which is similar to DVX100A). For composite (RCA) output, it works fine. But when I tried on S-Video(camera) to composite(RCA TV) output, all I get on TV is some video noise. Does S-Video output work as straight forward as composite output? Or I need to do some settings on the camera in order to work?

I just bought the cable few days ago, bad luck me!
Or, is it possible that some old TV just won't work on S-video to RCA cable input?
