S-Video output 16:9

Hi,

I'm sure there is a simple solution to this problem, but I can't find one searching the site. I have my hvx200 connected via s-video to a SD television for basic monitoring. The tv is cropping the display to fit it in the 4:3 aspect ratio. Can I change the output to 16:9? This same problem also occurs if I have the camera in mcr/vcr mode and view files. I feel dumb.

Thanks,
Cmus

If you're shooting HD, the output signal will always be 16:9. You'd have to change the settings on the TV to tell it to display the full image rather than cropping.

Thanks Barry,

Looks like I'm out of luck with this TV. No option to do this. Guess I gotta save my money for a Marshall...

I believe you can see it in the proper ratio. I recently found a product that will allow me to use an LCD computer monitor to watch replays of recorded video direct from the camera. I believe you can use it with a regular TV. You can also adjust the output to see it in 16:9. Here's the website for the TVBOX 1440. I bought the product at Fry's Electronics for $59.95.

Hope it helps.
