Rycote Invision7 First Impressions

I got this mainly for my MBHO hyper, but since you can change the spacing of the lyres, I could use it for the 416 too.
I´m a little nervous about the small size and evrything being out of plastic, advanced plastic hopefully, because these lyres need to twist and bend a lot, if only for taking the mics in and out.
I wanted to add a softie soon, but somehow I don´t trust the sturdyness of the Invision, don´t want my 416 to drop to its death...

For those who already use the Invison on a daily basis: does it hold?

I'm curious about this too. I'm looking at it for my MK-012 with a furry.

It looks like there are 3 positions for the lyres. Can you add one to make it more stable for a larger mic?

My guess would be that it will not hold a shotgun with softie really well as it bends too much, sure it will not drop the mic but still somewhat inconvenient for my liking.
That´s why I ll design a double popscreen-inspired windjammer around it, you know, there are so many anti wind engineered materials out there to experiment with.

Sounds like a good idea, at least for shotguns...

Your Octava should be fine with only two though, just like my MBHO...

Less mounting points will result in less noise transmission so using three will increase the mechanical noise transmission by at least 1/3.

The Rycote S-series is the same "Lyre" suspension in a basket windshield with integral furry cover. The same price as a Softie, but better.

I'm using 3 mounting points on an S-series Rycote.. has this type of mount....and there isn't any added handling noise.... BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ANY HANDLING NOSIE TO BEGING WITH!!!

Great Photos!

Thanks, hehehe, but that´s just shaky handheld with a bounced flash:beer:

Using the IN7 with the MBHO a lot now, even if I won´t use it with the 416, it was worth the purchase for the hyper.
The lyre mount bents a lot, i hope this piece of plastic stays flexible;o)
