RX10 II Build Quality

I have only had my RX10 II for two weeks and my screen is scrambled, I have not dropped the camera or damaged it in any way. Is this what I can expect from Sony build quality? I chose the RX10 II over the Canon XC10 and loved it for the two weeks I had it. It is headed for service but I have lost income due to this and not happy. Yes I have a backup but not with the Slow Motion I needed.

I'm so sorry to hear that.
Mine functions perfect since day 1 (knock on wood). Eventually you got a bad unit.
Good luck man

Please let us know how the repair goes.

Apparently Sony has outsourced their repair service in the USA? That seems like a big mistake in my eyes. You lose so much control when you do that. It is a very odd move, just as they say they want to build a support organization for professionals. (I have a 6 Sigma Black Belt in Qulity and Customer Service tools, from a major U.S. Manufacturer.)

i have heard horror stories about the Sony outsourced repair facility taking 4 weeks just to acknowledge they have received a (still) camera. If Sony made a promise in terms of repair timing, you might start pushing very hard for a replacement instead of repair when that time is elapsed. Is it possible to get your dealer involved, and ask for them to handle the repair while shipping you a replacement unit? Too late for that?

But maybe you will have a good experience? Please keep us informed.
