running the ptool on MAC winebottler problems

Hey

Has anyone used the winebottle app to run the ptool on a mac. I keep getting an error and I'm not sure if im missing something?? Thanks.

Thanks! I cant get that to open either. It installed ok and has the nice lookin GH1 icon but it wont open? IDK...

I have a similar problem. I downloaded the ptools_mac, run it in winebottler and it crashes out during the "preparing" stage. Every time. I am running 10.8.6 with winebottler 1.1.44. Annoying, cos I have to go to the library to use ptools.

Thanks for suggestion. Tried installing boot camp. Won't install - says I need over 10Gb free, even though I did... Ho hum.

There's always Parallels.
The fully-functioning demo is free for a week or two, so you can evaluate it.

Problem is finally solved. In the end I have winebottled standalone version of ptools working, without parallels and without wine even. I deleted wine and it still works. What was lacking was a component called X11 from xQuartz. I have no idea what it does exactly but I reckon it is the lack of this file that stops ptools working on Mac. I recommend anyone experiencing this problem to do a little google for X11 download and follow the instructions to install it. Thanks.
