Running Out Of Memory

I have 4GB RAM installed in my PC, which comes out to about 3.25GB. Is that enough for rendering 1080/24p footage? I always get an error saying I'm out of memory.
 
I get that error a lot when I'm doing a lot of keying it pops up when I'm working not rendering. It usually pops up I click ok it pops up again I click ok then everything runs fine. I think it happens when the program is trying to generate the image. I found it to be benign although a nuisance sometimes. I don't worry about it much though because it doesn't seem to harm anything, the program doesn't crash and I haven't found a fix. If this is what you are experiencing I have been dealing with it for years now,

Btw I have 12g of ram and use cs4
 
Ohhhhk, you probably want to purge after 10 frames or so. Go into preferences holding the Shift key. When you get there, it should show you a selection at the bottom called "Secret" (I'm not kidding). Then add the value of 10 or 15 to "purge all after every ___ frames." Give it a go, and it should work. It'll take a little longer to render out, but at least you'll have a finished product.
 
You problem is different from mine sorry I couldn't be of help.

That is a cool trick about a hidden menu, never heard about that one.
