OTHER: RUN St. Maartin

Running is in her blood, Britta wants to run and travel the world, She went to St. Maartin for a week long vacation and spent some of it running the trails by the ocean. She wears Hoka One shoes that give her support for her feet, even after she just got done running a 100 mile challenge.


This was just a fun shoot we had, didn't plan for it, and didn't bring any gear but my dslr and lens.

let me know what you guy's think, would like to one day film for a outdoors company or IronMan competitions .
 
Pretty simple shoot. Would have liked to have seen more areas or more beachy elements (maybe the famed PJ airport would have killed it. Epic shots to be had there.) Possibly adding some other low angle or follow shots will help convey the movement more here. After 2 viewings I can't quite say I definitively know what the video is about though. Im definitely left with a couple questions. I feel like it's about running In general... but it has the 1 girl instead of multiple people... so maybe it's about her In particular? Is the island significant? Does she live there or travels to run unique places?
When I first read your post (b4 watching) I assumed it was going to be about the shoes, and maybe this was a secret shoe commercial i was aboit to see but they weren't even brought up.

Given the fact you only had the 1 dslr, the reframed shot in 1080 was a solid choice, and looked pretty natural on a cellphone.

Nice job though. Hope to see more of your work going forward.
 
thanks for the critique, We where on the opposite side of the airport, and didn't fit that into our schedule to see the planes landing, Wish I would have brought my glidcam, and had more time to film.
 
Yea glidecams kill in this scenario as long as you have the time to run the routes in practice. Nice composition though I still have to give it to you. Filmic moves there.
