GH3 run & gun shot with GH3

Last sunday, I shot this year's Ganesh Festival in Paris, willing to test GH3+ 12-35, in a run & gun situation.

here's the link: http://vimeo.com/73588375#at=0

Because I shot wide open, manual focusing & proper exposure were pretty harsh, because of the lack of clarity of its LCD, in daylight.

I wonder whether I should buy a loupe to see more clear while shooting in daylight.
And if so, what kind of loupe!? Varavon's one? kinda expensive....

Moreover, should we trust the AutoFocusContinue in run & gun situation?

Anyway, pls dont hesitate to comment on these issues :)

Thx

Regards,

Seb

I never shoot looking at the LCD unless it is absolutely necessary. As a visual motion pictures artist the same way as when I do stills I feel the need of detaching myself from everything around me and connecting to my image through the EVF, the old fashion way. It is a connection from image to eye to brain. The same way the audience will see my work. When you are doing run and gun you need to be aware of what is going on around you for safety reasons of course but nevertheless to me using the LCD to film is not artistic at all.

I agree with both of you, however, as you say John, for safety reasons you might have no other choice ;)

Thanx for your kind replies

Regards,

Seb
