Run around audio player?

Hey,

I have been doing a few guerilla music videos and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for an audio playback device that can be fairly loud and very portable. (I am thinking the size of an iphone or similar)

We tried using the iphone but it wasn't loud enough for our purposes as well as it had trouble shutting off the sound part way through. Obviously we could use a small boom box but we are trying to be discrete and portable.

If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them.

The best you can expect, and this is a stretch, is an iPod dock with speaker base. You aren't going to find anything smaller that will have any hope of audible output past 3 feet.
