RUN and GUN experiMental with the GH1

Hello, the doc. The point of this film was to have fun and experiment with my new lenses in a new environment. I was really excited to see all the bokeh out on the street at night as this was a first for me.

Thanks for the compliment too:)

When I first read the doc's comments, was thinking you guys must surely be buddies and this was just some friendly ball busting going on. But it looks like the doc was just playing the fool.

Think you have some very cool shots in there, Trey. Nice editing too. Overall shows a lot of talent. Enjoyed the mirror shot. The "experiMental" in the title fits perfectly. Nice work.

Where is the video in question? Also I didn't see it, but the doc's comments seem a little harsh and not helpful if he was being serious.

Click the vimeo link above the picture in first post.

I'd say this is a pretty cool test, compared to your average "shooting the backyard" stuff. Loved the anamorphic format and tension between slow flow footage and "paranoid" shots.
[EDIT] Just clicked the link myself at this clip appears to have been deleted.

Woah - initially this was posted as 'an experimental film.' As such it seemed to me to be exactly the kind of up its own ass nonsense that people come out with when they have a camera but nothing interesting to say.... but trying to make it look like it might be art with slightly odd behaviour of the actors with lots of moody lighting and out of focus backgrounds.

Now... if it had been posted as 'some footage to check out my new lens' I wouldn't have said anything cause that would be fine (though TBH I probably wouldn't have wasted my time watching it.)

If it WAS just test footage then the title of the thread; the fact that it was called "M. A run and gun short film."; and the fact that he does not indicate what lens / settings he used as would be normal in a technical piece could understandably cause confusion.... no? The newly linked vid now says "GH1 Bokeh test." So all is well. :) Now stop busting my balls!
